Hey everyone!
Today I will be going over my Tangkou Aussie doll. Here's a few pictures of her, just to show off what all this doll can do.
This is her! She's a Ball Jointed Doll from Tangkou Sixth Sense, in Hong Kong. Tangkou made a limited number of these dolls in 2012, and have released others in their Tangkou doll line since.
I love all of them, and maybe one day, I'll be able to say I have the whole line of Tangkou dolls. But until then, I'll just share the ones I DO have! Like Aussie ( I will be changing her name). She's wearing pink and white sneakers that look like Chuck Taylors, a pair of mustard yellow long socks, a pair of denim shorts with lace trim, a pink tube top with a blue tank top over it. The tank top has an electric guitar screen printed on the front. Her hat is a little strange to me, it's like a tube, that just stretches over her head. Her eyes do change color with a button on the back of her head, it sticks through her wig. She can also "go to sleep" with another button on the back of her head. Her eye lids are pretty cool, they're painted pink with a bow on each one. She's got false eye lashes, but they're not the hard plastic ones you find on most dolls, they're soft and pretty. She's wearing some rouge on her cheeks, a very light color of eye shadow and lip gloss. Her makeup is minimal, compared to other dolls you see in the store. She has more realistic features on her face, too. She comes with the stand pictured, brush, comb, headband, passport and certificate of authenticity.
So aside from that, there are a few things about her that I'm not crazy about. Her eye mech jams. I can't change her eyes without actually taking my finger and rolling the eyes. I need to take the head apart and fix it, but it's annoying. Every thing I've read about these dolls, say that they stick occasionally, and that's true. My Fairy does stick SOMETIMES. This one, she's stuck. Also, she almost fell apart at the elbow when I first started posing her. That kind of irritated me. I'm not going to complain too much about her though. She's pretty well put together. She's just not as sturdy as the Fairy doll I have. They're not toys anyway, they're collectibles. So I guess, just be super careful when you're posing her.
Other than the couple issues I have with her, she's an awesome doll. I don't mind too much to have to fix her eye mech, or pop her arm back in place. She's well worth the money I spent. She was on sale, on eBay and I jumped all over it. I ordered her for $49.00. She's usually $55.00 or $60.00.
They sell them on eBay, tangkoudol.com, aliexpress.com and dhgate.com. I highly recommend her to a serious doll collector. You should check out the other dolls in the Tangkou Doll line!
Well, I hope you have enjoyed this doll review, and I hope to hear from you about your toys or collectibles!
Unitl next time,
Tonya@Woollyghoulie
