Jim McKenzie The Scarecrow

Hey Everyone!

I'm really exited to post today. I got a new figure! I ordered it Monday and it arrived today in the mail! Let me tell you.. I have wanted this little man since the day I saw the  YouTube video of The Scarecrow coming to life.

Jim McKenzie. He's such a talented man.. I'm blown away by all of the sculptures I've seen of his. As someone that enjoys to dabble a lot in the sculpting realm, I have a hard time believing he didn't sell his soul to the Devil for that much talent. I can't create anything NEARLY that good looking. But, alas, I'm just a crafter who thinks she's an artist sometimes.

Anyway, back to this wonderful little man. I saw a post from the artist saying that these collectible figures were available at ToyQube. Soooo I naturally freaked out, headed DIRECTLY to ToyQube to find my little love. I found him. $165.00 and a few days later, he's here. I panicked right after I paid. $165.00 is a LOT of money when you're relying on your talents to pay your bills. But I know that he is going to make me happy for a VERY long time.

So the time has come. I will share my little guy with you and tell you ALLLLLLL about him!

Look at that BOX! It's the coolest box ever! The colors are so bright and vivid. So it's wrapped around. It has a close up of The Scarecrow illustration on the very front, then wrapped around is another image of The Scarecrow with clouds, sky, birds and the ground. It's a sturdy box, perfect size for what's inside! The bottom has your standard warnings and company info. The top of the box has Jim McKenzie logo on it.
Toy Qube teamed up with Mr. McKenzie and created a half scale version of the original Scarecrow.  This is the base.. As soon as I pulled all of the foam out of the box, this separated. It was packed VERY well.

This is the top of the base. It's SO COOL LOOKIN!!!!!! I can't. It's colors are so pretty together and so bright. Very Oompa Loompa land (in my head) That's what I would think the ground looks like in Loompa Land lol.
What's this?! A cut out!? Awesome. I love that this is packed this way. I don't know why, but I love the cut out.

I love what's under the cut out a LOT MORE!!!

There he is!! There's that adorable creepy little sweet face! Those eyes! LOOK! The bird! Yes!!!
This bird has straw hanging out of its mouth! And a peg on his feet. He will set upon the T that holds the boy.

Here's the boy! The Scarecrow! OH MY GOSH!!!! I am SO FREAKING EXCITED! I love him. I love him I love him I love him! He's sooooo well made. You should really take the time and watch the YouTube videos he's posted about his work. It shows everything he does to create his pieces. The Scarecrow was a huge hit. I'm really lucky I was able to purchase this. If it weren't for him teaming up with ToyQube, I wouldn't have had the opportunity to have him in my home.
The Scarecrow just sets down into this cut out on the base. He snaps in, and he's really secure. There's no teetering. It's a solid heavy piece.

The bird sits right down on the post. The peg goes right in the hole, his feet hug the top and he's not going anywhere. He's securely in there.
Gosh, look at the detail on that boys face, the post and his hat and shirt! See the straw hanging out of his neck? Attention to small details like that make things extremely big!
The expression on that face! Alright.. SO this is his lil noggin. I love the hair! I love his EYES!!! I love the stitching and I love the color. His lil nose! The hat is textured and I love that!

The detail he took the time to put in the clothing just blow my mind. I wish I could do such work. I try, and it just turns to bleh. That's a lot of work he's put into this little guy. His britches and his shirt, and the straw. The gloves! His hands are awesome!

This is his little legs. He's got on the coolest shoes. I'm a fan of these feet. He has continued to blow my mind with the pants and the socks and the shoes. I think the shoes were like the ones Jim McKenzie was wearing in his video of the creation of this little guy. I like that. Putting a piece of yourself in your art work. That's my favorite part of creating art. When I crochet, I always end up with a strand of hair on my work.. Maybe two strands. But there's always a piece of me in there.
This is the front of the base. It's got The Scarecrow on the front of it. I love the letter style. It's suttle, doesn't stand out and distract you from the figure itself. I love it.

This is the full affect! He's assembled (easily) and he's freaking AWESOME.

I thought I'd add this, because I like it. Artists gotta have his name on his work! And it's well places and looks nice. I love the lettering.
Here's a better look at the details in the hands and the sleeves. So good.

Those shoes!!!

I think this hat is top knotch.

That's all of it, folks. That' is The Scarecrow by Jim McKenzie.
Go check him out. Get some art. Love it, create it, post it! I wanna see what's being created! If you're buying toys, I wanna see, if you're making art, I wanna see, if you're buying art, I wanna see!
Thanks for reading my blog. Go buy yourself The Scarecrow!

The Hobbit Chibis!!!

That's right. We got some Hobbit Chibis! I didn't know these things existed!!I was looking around Target today and came across them in the section that has baseball cards.
So each bag comes with three Chibis inside, and a checklist of all the Chibis in that series. I picked up two bags, and lost one chibi. I didn't realize that the bag was busted open at the bottom, and we lost one of our little guys. Let me show you what we have :)
The first is Bombur the Dwarf. You can't see it, but he has a bald spot on the top of his head, and he's hodling what looks like a large spoon and his beard is braided. Next we have GANDOLF!!!!! Paul said, before he opened it, that he wanted Gandolf, Bilbo and Gollum. He opened and Gandolf fell out. He's pretty neat, with his staff and his hat. He's even got the rope tied around his waist. Next we have Balin the Dwarf with his fancy beard and sword. He's quite adorable with his hair and beard. I think he's my third favorite one in this lineup. Next we have Dwalin the Dwarf with these blue designs tattooed on his noggin, and he's carrying an axe. Next we have the very neat and cute BILBO BAGGINS!!!!!!!! He's obviously smaller than the dwarfs and Gandolf. But he's adorable and he's carrying his sword! I'm not sure what Chibi we lost, but with Paul's luck, it was Gollum! Maybe we'll get more of these little Chibis soon.
Do you like these? Did you have any Chibis from different series that you like better? Let me know in the comment section below! Thanks for reading my posts! I'll be posting more about toys and collectibles soon. Keep your eyes open, so you don't miss something awesome.
Until next time,

Dunny Sideshow Pt 2

Hey everyone,
Today I will be going over some Dunny's, and I'm excited about this! We got these on sale, and didn't get any doubles! So far, so good with the Dunny blind boxes. Here's what's new!
So this is the new addition to our unexpected collection. I'll go from left to right for you. First, in the helmet, we have a Dunny designed by Mishka. The bottom of the little guys foot has a bear head with a crown, so I had to look it up.The card that comes with the figure says Death Adders, MNWKA Engineered to Destroy! and has a picture of a football player. Maybe he's a Death Adder? That's what I'll go with. The next one is Bodkin, designed by Okkle. He's one of my most favorites. The next one is designed by DGPH. He's super neat because he's double sided. I didn't think to get a picture of his backside, but he has an eagle head and another face on his belly. We think he's a totem of some sort. These three little guys are so cool. I really would like to get the strong men, elephant and the creature with all the eyes.
My favorite is the bat! I love the wings and the color of him. He's got a cute little nose and a little tail. The football players helmet is removable, but it's not very easy to remove it. I tried, and I quit because I didn't want to break his head. Paul put the helmet on him, so it HAS to come off, right? The other guy, doesn't do anything special, other than look awesome.
If you have any of these Dunny figures, let me know! Are there any other series of the Dunny's that you collect? I really like the Mardivale series, and the 2012 series.
I'll be posting more on toys and collectibles soon, so keep your eyes open, because I might review something you have been on the fence about! If you have any questions, just post them in the comment section below! Thanks for reading!
Until next time,

Wandering Misfits!

This is, by far, going to be one of the coolest posts you'll ever read. Here's why.
WANDERING MISFITS!!!!!!! I think these little figures are the BEST. These little guys are designed by Kathie Olivas and Brandt Peters. Cardboard Spaceship released this line in March this year, and they're already getting hard to find. They are the creepy kind of cute that me and so many other people love. The blue cat on the left is Massao and the yellow one on the right is Kuma. They're part of Series 1 Wandering Misfits Blind Boxes. There's many more in the series that are way cooler than these two guys. Can you imagine?! Cooler than these guys?! I hope to get a couple more of this series, like the human ones and the octopus! They're too expensive to take chances on getting doubles. These are just around $12, and I haven't been able to find them any cheaper than that with shipping involved. You can get these on CircusPosterus.com, eBay.com and I think they're on Amazon.com. There is a new series coming out in a few days. Series 2 of Wandering Misfits!! June 18th!! They look to be Steam Punk inspired. That's pretty awesome, huh? I'm really excited about these figures. They're well made, detailed and creepy cute! That's the perfect combination!
Do you have any Wandering Misfits? Think they're pretty nifty? Comment below and share your thoughts on these little guys!
I'll be sharing more toys and dolls with you soon! Thanks for reading!
Until next time,

Unicorno Tokidoki Mini Figures

This is my collection of Unicornos!!! Simone Legno designed these little 2.5" figures for Tokidoki. These figures are from Series 2.
From left to right: Sunny Day, covered in polka dots. Zamba, covered in zebra stripes in black and red, sporting a Mohawk instead of a horn. Sakura, a Geisha style unicorn with cherry blossoms all over her. Vandalo, covered in graffiti on a grey body. Bambu, a Panda bear unicorn! And last but not least, Rodeo, the rocking unicorn. They're very detailed and well made. Their arms, legs and head do not move. The tail can be twisted around, but that's it.
Unicorno figures come in blind boxes.
For those of you that don't know what a blind box is, they're AWESOME!! You should definitely go on eBay or Amazon and search "Blind box". There are SO many different ones. I'm sure there's at least one for you. They range from $5 to $13. You can google it too, and come up with sites that have their own mini figures in blind boxes. Check out kidrobot.com, toywiz.com and midtowncomics.com. I encourage you to check out your local retail stores such as Target, Walmart, Hot Topic and ToysRUs. Or do something really fun and support your local comic shop! They are definitely there, you just need to go find them! Who knows what kind of awesomeness will be behind those doors.

I'll be sharing more blind box awesomeness with you soon! I hope you enjoyed this post! Comment below with what toys, figures or collectibles you've gotten lately!!
Until next time,
