So, I've been looking at Blythe dolls for a while now.. since I started collecting Lalaloopsy dolls. I love the big eyes, big heads and smaller bodies, something these dolls have in common. Once I started looking at Blythe dolls, I found Tangkou dolls, Icy dolls, Pullip dolls and plenty other ball jointed dolls. I fell in love. I couldn't afford them... at all.
So I finally was able to spend a little today.. I have been searching for the perfect dolls for the last few days. I found them. We ordered them today, and I can't wait until they get here.
I ordered a Neo Blythe doll, and a Tangkou doll. They Blythe doll comes nude with just a wig. I'm not even sure it comes with a stand, to be honest with you. The Tangkou doll is called The Horned Fairy. She's absolutely beautiful. I fell in love with her as soon as I saw her.
Okay. So I spent $65.95 free shipping on Blythe from DHgates.com. I think that's an amazing deal, considering every other Blythe doll was more than that, plus about $22.00 in shipping.
On the Horned Fairy, now... that's the one that hurts. I almost didn't get her. Paul went to order her probably five different times, and I kept stopping him. She was a total of $92.00. That's the most I've ever spent on a doll. Hopefully the most I'll ever spend. If it weren't for the valid points my dear Paul makes when I'm indecisive, I wouldn't have had him order her. Now, she comes clothed, with a stand and a passport. That's what she's suppose to come with anyway. I hope everything is perfect with her, for that amount of money.
I watched a few unboxing videos today, of the dolls I ordered. There was this one of a young girl, I believe she was French, and she touched my heart. She was so excited about her doll, I loved it. She opened the doll with care, and was smiling and squealing the whole time. It made me so happy to see how happy a doll can make a young lady. She had a collection of them, and you could just tell she took great care of them.
These aren't dolls I'm going to leave in the box. So that's another thing that I'm excited about. They don't display well in the boxes like Lalaloopsy dolls do. The Blythe doll, I will be creating clothes for, and the Tangkou needs to be displayed nicely and have pictures taken of her with the Blythe doll.
I'm holding out on the Lalaloopsy dolls until the new ones are released. We've just been getting minis if they're a good enough deal. I still love my Lalaloopsy dolls, folks. I'm not a trader. I love dolls. I love Lalaloopsy dolls, the dolls I had as a child, and dolls that aren't anything like the others I have.
I just hope they get here as fast as possible. I might try to do an unboxing video for them. I wouldn't be posting it on YouTube though. Just here.
If you don't know what these dolls are, I suggest going on Google, clicking on the images button, and typing in Blythe dolls, or Tangkou dolls. The customizations people do to these dolls blow my mind. I don't want to do anything like that with these dolls. Maybe change the hair once in a while, the clothes.. but that's it.
Speaking of customizing dolls... I was in Walmart the other day, found a Monster High Build A Monster kit. I grabbed it, not realizing it says Add On pack. Well, I have to get the rest before I can build a monster. But I can customize the dolls faces and hair. They come blank! I think that's awesome, and I can't wait to start on that!!! Ever since I started looking at dolls, I've wanted to try my hand at customizing one. I don't like the way the faces look so made up on most dolls. I like simple faces, not these over plump, hot pink or bright red lips, or eyes with tons of blue eyeshadow around them. That's another thing I like about Lalaloopsy dolls, Blythe dolls and Tangkou dolls. The make up, if any, is very simple. So stay tuned to my blog, and hopefully soon, you'll be seeing something different from my normal posting.
Until next time,
Tonya@Woollyghoulie
