Tangkou Doll Review : My first Tangkou!!!

Hey everyone! Today I was busy taking pictures of my Fairy doll. She's a Tangkou doll. Let me go ahead and warn you.. This is going to be a LONG post. Full of pictures and info and of course my personal review of this doll. Here we go, I'm starting with the way it's packaged first.
This is the sleeve. It's labeled on the top with Tangkou Doll. It has the logo, some Chinese characters and a beautiful illustration of the doll inside.
Here's the back of the sleeve. Again, the illustration of the doll, and the warning label and basic info at the bottom.  As you can see, the very top right hand corner says 14+. This isn't a toy. This is a collectors doll.

There's a label on the front showing that it is a limit edition of 2000. She's more rare than the other Tangkou dolls, and you'll see why if you've ever gone and researched these dolls.

Once you take the sleeve off, you'll see this box. Now, I had already took the doll out and played with her a little, before I remembered to do a review on her. So she's not in her original state. Really, the only thing is, she doesn't have her hair net on, and the passport is in front, not behind. This box has a clear front, so you can keep your doll in there if you want. I do not want. I want my doll displayed, and easy to get to. So she's out of the box.

This is the back of that box. As you can see, there's instructions for the function of the doll's eyes. It says that the dolls have different painted eyelids. Not all of the dolls, you'll see what I'm talking about in a minute. Also, the back of the box has warning labels and stuff in Chinese, so I have no idea what it says. There's a 100% Guarantee with their dolls. I'm not sure what that consists of, hopefully I will not be finding out.

Once you get the doll out of the box, it's in this little plastic mold, and yellow half box. She comes with a stand and comb, brush, headband, passport and I.D. card behind the plastic. Her hair comes in a hairnet, and she's tied down to the plastic, like most dolls usually are. She's securely in her box. She's packaged so well, she wouldn't shake out of place. Very good packaging.
Now for the good part. I'm stripping this doll down. She will be bald and naked as a Jay Bird.
Starting with her eyes. You can activate the sleep mode. That keeps the dolls eyes closed, making it look as though she's asleep. As you can see, she has pink eyelids, and super long eyelashes. Very little make up on her face. I love that she's so simple and not made up so much. NO EYEBROWS!!!! Weird how she looks perfectly fine without them. Now, I know I looked very strange when I shaved off just half of my eyebrows when I was a kid.
I know it looks like I'm choking her. I was changing her eye color. And this color is clear, with a left gaze. The clear is nice, it almost looks sky blue in the right light.

This eye color is bright green, with a right gaze. The green is so pretty. I tried to get a good picture of it, but it just doesn't do it justice.

This eye color is blue-ish gray color. Almost a smoky gray, with a forward gaze.

This eye color is pink with a forward gaze.
This color, in my opinion, looks best with her. You'll see why in a minute. I think you might agree.
This is the back of her head. There's a view of
a heart button and a switch. The heart button is what changes her eye color. You just simply push it in, and the eye's close and open with a new color. Now, sometimes the eyes get stuck, and you just have to take your finger, with the button pushed in, and roll the eyes yourself. This gets the eyes unjammed and you don't have to beat her head on the counter. There's a switch, like I said earlier, that activates the Sleep Mode. It's directly under the button. There's also screws on either side of her head that you can take out to remove the face plate and get to the eye mech. I have not done this. I will probably never do that, unless her eye mech needs replaced.
She can be posed almost any way you want her. She bends a her ankles, knees, hips, chest, shoulders, elbows and wrists. Her head swivels, but doesn't tilt. Her ears are pierced with these tiny holes you can stick earrings in. Maybe if I make her an outfit, I'll get her some tiny earrings.
There's detail on this doll that the other Tangkou dolls don't have. The pink blushing on her body is specifically for this doll. I don't know what it's all about, but it works. I think it's just an extra little thing, since she's a fairy, they might have wanted to make it less fleshy colored. I haven't seen it on any other dolls, so I think it's safe to say it's something that makes this doll unique. Oh, yes, she came with these frilly panties. I left those on, just because this is a doll blog, for children and adults :)

Here's another picture, just showing you how she bends
and twists. Her feet and hands are the only thing on her that's made of a softer plastic. The rest of the doll is a hard plastic, she doesn't bend unless it's at a joint in her body. So be careful.
Here's the doll, fully dress, with her wig, horns and passpor
I don't know if I took a good picture of this or not, but her head has magnets taped to it, and the horns are magnetic. They're removable, but with very strong magnets. They go over the hair and don't mess up the wig at all. Her hair is extremely soft and almost human like. It's long and thick, in a platinum color. It's very beautiful on her. The wig is easily removed and put on. It's just a matter of not getting hung up on the buttons on the back of her head.
This is a better look at her hair and the top of her dress. The dress is just tulle sewn into a halter with a beaded breast. nothing extravagant. I will be making her a very cute dress soon. So you might want to stay tuned for that!

Here she is with her I.D. card, or her Certificate of Authenticity. She's very legit, folks. Don't mess around, she's numbered and signed for.. She's on her stand, that comes with all tangkou dolls. It's just a plastic stand that can easily be broken, so you might need to be super careful with it, or just replace it with a better stand.

So, that's my review on the Tangkou Fairy doll. I love her, and I'm extremely excited to have her on my shelf in the bedroom. I love everything about her and wouldn't change anything. I know a lot of people get these dolls and customize them, but I don't want to do that with her. I think she's perfect the way she is. I will be changing clothes, from time to time. Just for fun though. I think she's very well put together, great quality. She's sturdy and doesn't feel fragile or like I should be afraid to move her body around. The wig is a good wig, the care instructions for it are in the passport. There's also care instructions for the rest of her.
If you're debating on a Tangkou doll or something else, I recommend Tangkou. After you decide on Tangkou, it's then time to decide what exact Tangkou doll you want. I had no trouble wanting this doll. I fell in love with her as soon as I laid eyes on her. She is by far the most beautiful Tangkou doll. There are two or three other Tangkou dolls I would like to have, and one day, maybe I'll get them. But for now, she's perfect for me.
I hope you found this review helpful in deciding on a doll, and I hope you enjoyed it. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!! Thanks for reading!
Until next time,
